Home. How long have I been gone? How many questions will need to be answered? And once these questions are answered, will I be able to return here to D'ni? My journey has taken me far from where I expected. Very quickly my responsibilities on the surface were left behind. Now the question is: how do I pick them back up? Can I pick them back up? Tomorrow when I wake it will be the last day I spend in D'ni. I hope to return some day, though said surface responsibilities make such things difficult; explanations make them even more so.
I could not stay up there on that Takotah rooftop. After such events I feel I must think. Alone. I stand gazing across the lake at Kerath's Arch and find myself thinking about Yeesha. In discovering that she was the Grower even she did not know what her journey would bring. If we be the water that goes where it wills then downward is the journey. I never expected this journey to go so deep. Yeesha. How many years have you been gone? You told us to find a way. You told us to make a home. We have done that.
The explorers here will be safe. He was delt with; the Triple Shell Journey is sealed and locked away; and the Bahro have found new allies in myself, Adelia, Pantaleon, Laroon, and MidnightSun. It won't be so bad having to return to the surface. I will return. Saying this I feel even more now that She will return as well. Yeesha is more connected to this place than any of us. She will return. Her journey has just taken her away for a time She will return. I feel it.

Esto - The Plan
Laroon, Adelia, MidnightSun, and I would be the first to leave the Bahro cavern. With the Bahro's aid we would each link to another's relto. Once in place, Pantaleon would be sent to my Relto and link to through the Triple Shell book. Once through, he would relto out. From my relto MidnightSun would take the book and relto out before He could acquire it.
In MidnightSun's relto he would pass the book off to me and I would in turn relto out and pass the book to Laroon who would in turn give the book to Adelia in his own relto. From there a Bahro would reset our positions and we would continue the process. It wasn't to be infinite. This was nearly to buy time. While we performed the Relto Loop, the Bahro would be working behind the scenes to seal the book.
After three months in Noloben we had learned the Bahro had no difficulty understanding our language. Unfortunately, this was not a mutual understanding. Through glyphs on the walls they shared their plan; though our understanding of it was only enough to learn of the Relto Loop.
The power of the Bahro astounded me. I knew the rules of linking. I had studied Regestoy. I knew what was possible. What the Bahro could do made the D'ni art seem like a parlor trick; something to amuse a small child. What a great thing that these Bahro were not our enemies and by some miracle the Nekisahl had not returned to the cavern.
You link with whatever you would carry for a step. That was the rule I knew. Somehow the Bahro would be sealing the Triple Shell book while we were moving it from one relto to another. How? Was it done mid link? How could they do these things - and seemingly with only a thought?
A thought in my mind: why did they need us? With such power surely they could act of their own volition; and yet they needed us. Perhaps it was their fear of the Venalash and what He represented. The fate if the Bahro and the T'chuvahk could have been the same had the D'ni been any different. Or perhaps we are just a convenient distraction for Him while the Bahro wait and watch as they always do.

Esto - On the Same Foot
I had never seen Pantaleon so dumb struck - not even when he first saw D'ni. Adelia lit up like a candle at the sight of Laroon. They were like peas in a pod. Eventually Pantaleon came to his senses and we greeted him as old friends. The Bahro stayed back. Some hanging from the ceiling; others huddled across the room from us. This reunion was long past due. They understood it too.
"It's so great to finally see you guys," said Pantaleon. "But I didn't expect you to be the ones to do the finding."
I looked at Dean for a moment. 'Yeah, we had a bit of a detour. Didn't think we'd be gone for this long.". I paused; soaking in the moment. It had been too long. "There's a reason we've brought you here."
Pantaleon and Laroon looked around the cave. It looked like any other Bahro cave except that it was missing the hole in the floor and the fire cast a green shade on the walls. We explained to them what we knew: the Venalsh; the T'chuvahk; the Triple Shell journey, and of course, Him: the one who had set everything in motion.
"Which brings us here," I said.
"We needed to find a way to contact you without Him finding out," MidnightSun told Pantaleon. "He's always watching."
"He's right," I said. He is always watching. But he can't find us here. Don't ask me how; they made this place special."
"But the shell tattoo?" Pantaleon started.
It was Laroon who answered. "You won't get one. He already has his gaze on you". He was catching on fast. "It sounds like we need you to be seen."
Adelia nodded her head. "The Bahro will give Laroon a shell. He needs to be invisible to Him. For Him to complete his ritual, he will want to collect the book after you link. Once you have linked through we will begin the Relto Loop.

Esto - Clarity: Part 3
I didn't know how to answer that question. The only thing I could think was that if He was in the cavern the, there could be an entire army lurking in the shadows. After some time an answer came from MidnightSun. “You said he had a tattoo over his face.” Adelia nodded.
“When I placed the shell tattoo on Esto and myself it was in an effort to protect us from whatever malevolence had wracked Esto’s mind. It’s possible His tattoo has power too.”
That thought worried me. "You're telling me his tattoo allows him to link at will?" I didn't want to believe it. "Is such a thing even possible?"
"I saw him link into the apartment" said Adelia. "I doubt he had a linking book to that location."
"Lets say he can link at will. Why did he go to the apartment? Why did the Bahro protect Esto? And why did they link you away but leave Esto there? If what you told us is true then this figure was looking for him and still I want to know why."
I had never heard MidnightSun be so verbose. He was still angry. I could hear it in the implications he was making. He didn't trust her. His mistrust in Adelia was unfounded. He raised good points, but was leaping to all the wrong conclusions; or so I hoped.
“You said yourself you were protecting us from a malice,” I said to MidnightSun. I needed to draw his attention to the real problem. “I can think of few things more malevolent than these people; their leader doubly so. My madness made me vulnerable. If he came to the apartment then it would seem he knew where I was. Perhaps he could feel my presence.” I had his attention again.
MidnightSun got it. “The Triple Shell,” he said.
“His Journey. Yes,” I said. “We saw the Takes throughout the journey.” I thought back to the final moments of the Triple Shell; how I found myself in the star fissure and walked a spiraling path. “He was there with us,” I said. Each time I went over that moment I was more sure it was true. It all made sense: the Takes; the Star Fissure; the false journey; and D’ni in the sky. “Without realizing it we were helping him open a portal to D’ni.”
“But I thought you said the Venalash weren't in the cavern,” said Adelia.
“That’s right,” I said. “Which means...”
“Which means the ‘journey’ failed,” said MidnightSun.

Esto - Clarity: Part 2
I pointed to the strange beings beneath the chain symbol. “The T’chuvahk had this same power and like the Bahro were enslaved. Their fate was not so fortunate.” I pointed back to the figures under the swords. “The T’chuvahk were enslaved by the Venalash.” I heard a bahro mutter behind me and soon realized there was a gathering behind me. Certain I was on the right track I continued.
“The Bahro are free. The T’chuvahk are no more. From these images it seems the Venalash murdered every one of them. For what purpose? I don’t know. Perhaps they tried to rebel.”
Adelia looked back at the bahroglyps and reached out towards the Venalash symbol. “This one. Is he their leader?” she asked.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” I responded. “It seems the Venalash culture is one of conquest. These images of bubbles with cities within remind me of something I saw in a notice from RAWA. When RAWA came to Noloben he did so by using a Take - a strange linking mechanism of Bahro origin. These images resemble them.”
MidnightSun spoke up. “Then that could mean these people used the powers of the T’chuvahk to pillage other ages.”
“You may be right” I said.
“And they’re in D’ni now?” asked Adelia. I could tell she was starting to worry.
“No.” It was a valid concern. “I think if they were in the cavern people would have noticed.”
“Esto.” MidnightSun spoke again. “We’ve seen these Takes before.”
“In the Triple Shell journey. I remember.” He was right.
“I still don’t understand” said Adelia. “If they’re not in the cavern then how did I see Him!”

Esto - Clarity: Part 1
During my Star Fissure vision I saw the depth of the Great Tree. I felt the possibilities pass through me. That brief moment of prescience had left me with two words; one of which had incited the changes last night. The farther I get from that moment of prescience everything I saw and felt becomes more obscured; however, even in that moment I wasn’t clear of the meaning of these words. MidnightSun has showed me the chains and suddenly I understand the meaning of the second word: T’chuvahk.
“I understand the story on these walls.” I remember a look crossed MidnightSun’s face; if only for an instant. Did he expect this? Just how much does he know? I looked to Adelia and saw her searching for answers. I gestured toward the symbols near Adelia “The Venalash and the T’chuvahk.” I pointed at the symbols MidnightSun had shown me.
I explained as best I could what I experienced after I had walked the Path of the Shell; that for a moment I was connected to everything. The two words I explained had been revealed to me in that moment, but their meaning had been shrouded. Only now, seeing these glyphs; knowing what the two had told me was I able to understand. “The Bahro are not the only race of linking people” I said. “There was another.”

Esto - In the Morning
Today I was awoken by shouts. Apparently MidnightSun had accused Adelia of being irresponsible in Ae'gura for leaving me unguarded. I hadn't realized he would accuse Adelia of such a thing. He was with me when she told her story. He must have heard that her leaving was no choice of hers. It could be he feels some sort of guilt for not being present when these events occurred. Whatever the case it's not important now.
My mind goes back to the previous night. The bahro were acting very strange. MidnightSun and I had rushed back to see Adelia only to find the bahro blinking in and out of the blue cavern. They were obviously upset about something. Adelia asked what happened and I repeated what I had said to MidnightSun: “Venalash.”
Just as I repeated that strange word a bahro appeared in the center of the room; stood to full height; and gave a cry. The glyphs on the wall began to glow and new symbols appeared over the heads of some of the figures. The bahro hunched down on all fours and linked away leaving three of us to take in what we saw before us and the cavern. MidnightSun turned and walked out. Adelia kept repeating “I’ve seen him” staring transfixed at the bahroglyphs on the wall.
I can’t remember the last time I slept ‘outside.’ The weather here on Noloben has been a good deal warmer than D’ni. Comfortable, but still warmer than I’ve gotten used to. The d’ni cavern has always been a home to me. That fact has only increased since this past summer. I haven’t seen my home on the surface in some time. When this is all finished I’ll have to return there. No need to worry about that yet. I need to get everyone back to the cavern first. I wasn’t able to get any answers last night. Today it will be different. I’ll need to head to the main cavern to get some answers.

Esto - The Shell Tattoo
“After that” I said, “MidnightSun and I went our separate ways. He reltoed out and I did the same.” I sat there thinking for a while. Processing all I had just shared. “Seems like so long ago.”
“But wait,” Adelia said. “When I saw you in Ae’gura you were... broken. Pantaleon said he found you in Bevin writing strange things on the walls. That doesn’t just happen for no reason.”
“The Journey was false. I don’t know who or why; but the journey wasn’t of The Grower. Yeesha had no part of the journey.”
I saw Adelia take a deep breath; processing what I just said. “How did it happen?” asked Adelia. “How did you wake up?”
I pulled up my sleeve to reveal a shell symbol tattooed just below my shoulder. “From what I gathered: MidnightSun realized the truth before I fell. He took the Path of the Shell and from it devised this.” I looked at the tattoo and remembered the madness before. Adelia grew quiet. She pulled at the collar of her shirt to reveal her own shoulder where a blue shell was visible.

Esto - Collecting the Pieces: Part V
“The Light grew quickly out of the darkness - a light so bright I couldn’t see myself. Bathing in light I saw ages and time pass around me. Not see. Just images. I felt a presence. I touched the roots of the Great Tree. There was too much to ‘see’ here. So I let it pass. I could feel through the roots of terokh jerooth and found the wonders of the passing ages rush through me. And then the falling returned. The Light burned brighter setting fire to the whiteness before me. As I fell, the light burned into a single point and from there I keep falling. One light became many in the black and I knew where I was.”
“The Star Fissure” Adelia said. Her eyes were unfocused as if she was simultaneously looking at something beyond the stones of the flood and nothing at all. She looked up at me again. “It was the Star Fissure wasn’t it?”
“We’ve been there before” I replied.
“But this time was different. This time I stopped falling. I found myself on a white stair that climbed in a spiral upwards out of view. I climbed. The stars around me glimmered and I wondered how many ages I could see. Then I reached the top.
"Before me I were two other stairs identical to the one I had just climbed and at the tops of each stood a figure staring across the void back at me. I knew one to be MidnightSun. The other stared back at me across the fissure and as I looked he grew increasingly unfamiliar. Before long, the silence of that space was ended by a voice that seemed to come from everywhere.
"The tongue was unknown to me but their power was not. I could feel something inside of me resonating and images of the journey flew through my mind. Above I saw the sky split and a new light shone through. Amber glow outlining a city in ruins. D'ni.
"The city's reflection was above, the voice spoke, and every fiber in my being shook. The light of the lake above grew from a glow until it was blinding. I closed my eyes. When I opened them I was back in Vahmen district with MidnightSun."

Esto - Collecting the Pieces: Part IV
“Well? What happened?” Adelia looked like she was about to fall off her stone. In truth, the memory was all too visceral. The feeling of falling is one I never warmed to. Linking is the same. Making a leap of faith is one thing but falling in blindness not having expected it is quite another. I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and recalled the events. “Esto?”
“There was darkness” I said. “There was darkness and I was now somewhere in that darkness. There was no up, there was no down. I had fallen so far there was no farther to fall and yet no way to stand either. I wondered for a moment if I had died but soon ruled out that possibility as I felt my breathing. I tried to call out but I heard nothing. Not even the sound of my own voice. I held up my hand in front of my face and still could see nothing. Only my sense of touch alluded to its presence.
“I fumbled with my KI but it wasn't’ responding; my relto seemed inactive. What was I to do? At some point I wondered if my eyes were open or closed and even as I tried blinking I saw no change or indication of either. I found myself thinking about Yeesha and what she would tell me to do if she were here. Find a way. In my mind an image of the journey hand began to fly around. One by one the fingers flickered out until it left only a shell. Find a way. I focused on the image; turning it in my mind. Faster and faster. Find a way. From one shell, to two, and then finally three shells they aligned and before me was the triple shell symbol that had brought me so far. And then. Light.

Esto - Collecting the Pieces: Part III
“Darkness again. I walked a spiraling path and found myself standing on a gigantic leaf. I realized that the tunnel I just walked out from was in fact an enormous snail shell; it’s inhabitant long gone. I remember walking to the edge of the leaf and peering down below. The height was dizzying and no ground was visible; only an impossibly large ensemble of green leaves and branches from even larger trees. The scale of everything was staggering; I was but a sugar ant in comparison. I sat in awe of it all and soon I heard a familiar voice.
“I looked around and saw Dean behind me riding on the back of an enormous bridled snail - Easily five times my size.”
Adelia’s expression was that of shock. “He was riding a snail?”
“I could hardly believe it too” I said.
“That’s. So. Awesome” said Adelia.
I laughed a little to myself. “Sure enough. Dean explained to me that I would have to obtain a ride of my own if I planned on continuing the journey. Before long I had a snail of my own and we began scaling the limbs and branches of this incredible age. I had to ask. How did he learn how to wrangle a snail? From his answer, I gathered the solution of snail riding had been one of desperation. Who knows how long he spent in this age before bridling a snail and then finally coming to get my help.
“After a great deal of searching Dean and I found something. Etched into the bark of the tree was a symbol we each recognized. It had been on the book that began this journey: The Triple Shell Symbol. One symbol lead to another and then another as we found our way around the age. Five symbols. Each more ornate than the last. As we studied the final symbol I heard a sound of thunder and the world shook. I looked up. No sign of storm, and then a passing shadow. The thundering sounds returned again. Suddenly I realized what was happening around me. Dean’s expression reflected my own. I heard a terrible screeching and my core froze. The bird tore through the canopy and we were in free fall. I gasped for air and reached for my relto. The panel was inactive. I tried to close my eyes and fell into darkness.

Esto - Collecting the Pieces: Part II
Adelia seemed taken aback by my descriptions. “Across the bubble I opened my eyes and found myself in another tunnel; behind me the path spiraled upwards. Exiting I found myself in a truly strange environment. Before me was sandy ground and sparse vegetation and above: a shimmering surface of water where the sky should be. I found the tunnel I had emerged from to be a giant shell, reminiscent of Whelks and Conch shells I had found on beaches as a child - only these were massive. The landscape had numerous shells embedded in the sand.
“Wonder and marvel at this place lead me to climb the nearest shell; from the top I reached my hand out toward the water above. The strangest of feelings came to me and I drew my hand back seeing the ripples spread out from where I had touched the surface.”
For a moment Adelia seemed lost in thought. “You've seen this?” she asked.
“You asked” I responded. “and that’s not the half of it.
“Tell me more. I can only imagine what it was like. Please go on.”
I refocused my mind and continued. “In the distance I saw a particularly large shell - an auger. The form spiraled up from the sand and stretched beyond the surface of the water. As I approached it I found the shell to be inverted allowing me to walk into it and climb the spiral. As I climbed, I found the light of my KI to be useful as darkness came very quickly; the spiral kept climbing and climbing. When I finally reached the top of the spiral I found another linking bubble lighting the darkness. Knowing what to do I collected myself and walked through the shining surface.

Esto - Collecting the Pieces
"Esto. What's going on?"
"I was hoping you would know." I looked around and final began fiddling with my KI. No signal. "Damnit."
"KI's don't seem to have signal here." Adelia sat down on a large stone. "Otherwise I'd have sent someone a message by now."
A smaller bahro crawled down from the wall and curled up next to her. "At least these guys have been taking care of me." Her expression changed. “Other than Norm in the cavern, I never had much experience with the Bahro.” Turning back to me “How did you wind up here?”
I sat down and thought for a moment. “We thought we had found something special” I said. We thought that the journey was revelation." I took my finger and began drawing shapes in the sand. “Dean, or MidnightSun as he goes by now, found a book about a year ago. This book had a very peculiar marking on it.” I finished tracing the symbol in the sand and continued. “He vanished for months and when he returned he wanted me to join him.
“I went to Vahmen district and there I found a path laid before me. Dean was nowhere to be found but he had left a message telling me that I would be able to follow his steps and that he believed he needed help if he was to progress further. I took the linking book and linked to a chamber of smoothed stone. Behind me was a tunnel that spiraled upwards eventually opening to the sky. Before me was a mechanism that I manipulated to mimic the symbol on the book I had used to get there.
“I saw a light in the distance and moved toward it. Before long I stumbled and soon found myself in what seem to be an impossibility. In my captivation of the light I had ceased paying attention to my surroundings and found myself standing on thin air. I stood back up and looked around me. The area I had walked from was far behind me and the light I moved towards was still further in the distance.
“I cannot explain how I did what I was doing but it reminded me of a leap of faith I had made down the Great Shaft years ago. Below me I could see only darkness, above the stars. Before me was light, and behind was the tunnel I had emerged from. I thought, if this was real then it must be revelation and so I continued onward.
“Reaching the light I found what actually appeared to be a bubble. A glow emanated from it and within I saw an image of another place. I placed my hand out toward the bubble and found a cool rush pass over my hand as it moved through. I pulled my hand back. I checked my Relto - it appeared to be functioning. I took a deep breath and walked into the bubble.

Esto - The Unexpected
I know this place. I've seen it in The Archiver and one of the old adds the DRC had before the last closing of the cavern under Cate Alexander. This is Noloben. Of all the possibilities this is one I did not expect. My relto was not functioning - that should have been my first clue. No sooner had I found the Triple Shell symbol I heard movement behind me and all around. In the darkness I saw many creatures moving accompanied the light of sapphire eyes. A Bahro walked up to me, placed his hand on my shoulder, and we linked.
I linked in with MidnightSun beside me and found myself in a tunnel before a chamber roughly the size of my relto. The vaulted ceiling had small windows surrounding the circumference of the ceiling allowing a golden light to flow in. The lower walls were covered in petroglyphs that occasionally pulsed soft blue. The Bahro that linked us through made a crackling noise and seemed to indicate that we should move closer to the wall. We advanced and the bahro around us seemed to take an increasing interest - their chatter becoming excited.
From behind came a voice. A human voice. I turned around and found Adelia standing beside a Bahro. "Adelia!". I was overjoyed to see her. Of all the Ages, I did not expect to find her here.
“Esto! You’re back on your feet!”
“I hear you had something to do with that.”
“Why are you here? Everyone in the cavern is looking for you.”
Adelia noticed MidnightSun standing behind me. “I remember you. You’re the one Pantaleon went searching for.” He replied with a mmmhmm and said nothing more. “You asked why I’m here.” She paused. “That’s a bit of a strange story.”
“Go on” I encouraged her.
“Pantaleon had left me to care for you while he went in search for your friend here; I spent my time trying to find something that might help you. At one point I had Gaelen of the Guild of Healers look at you, but she couldn't do anything more than provide a sedative to keep you from hurting yourself. Occasionally I would get a message from Pantaleon but then he stopped responding.
“Shortly after there was another tremor.” Her beat slowed. “I remember Ae’gura shook violently and many explorers ran out into the streets hoping to find escape. A few were able to relto out, but soon the books stopped working. My relto was blank!”
“Next thing I knew a figure linked into the room. I saw him move toward you but he was stopped. Something that looked like a bubble appeared around you and prevented him from getting any closer. Then he came for me. Next thing I knew a Bahro linked in beside me brought me here.”
MidnightSun suddenly became interested. “Who was it?”
“The Bahro” MidnightSun began. “That must be why the linking books stopped working - both for Adelia and for you in the tunnel.”
“I can’t believe the Bahro would hurt any of us” I said to MidnightSun. “The Bahro Nekisal haven’t been seen in the cavern for years.”
“I don’t think they intended to harm anyone. The truth of the matter is we’re here now. The question is: why?”
This question has stuck with me. We’ve been here on Noloben for almost two weeks now. Our KIs aren’t functional and I find myself wondering what is happening in the cavern. There is much more to cover, but I grow tired. I’ll be sure to bring everything up to speed soon.

Esto - Visions Untangled
I have returned. Again. This time to the cavern itself. I linked into darkness and soon I found my KI flashing. A message from MidnightSun:
"It should all be clear now. You've been freed from the path of the stone."He's right. The visions that tormented me before are unclouded and their revelation is clear. What's more, I know this revelation is not without reason. Something is wrong. The Triple Shell journey is more dangerous than I thought. It was not placed by Yeesha but by another; for what purpose I do not know. Two words. Names. Something runs through my head: Venalash and T'chuvahk. Their meaning and their purpose are unknown to me. Judging by the coordinates on my KI I think believe I’m in Descent, or at least some part of the long tunnel. Normally I would simply relto out, but the linking panel of my relto book is blank. Must be a result of the star fissure. I'll either have to find another way back to D'ni or wait until my relto works again.

Esto - In the Steps of Those Before Me
The steps before me are the last in this Path of the Shell. I have taken time to understand this mechanism and the purpose of it's design. Kadish was truly a genius in his own right to have created such a device. It's strange that a mechanism created for the purpose of perpetuating a lie can in fact reveal the truth: Yeesha is The Grower.
While the tree before me is only a symbolic representation of terokh jerooth, having experienced the star fissure and the infinite nature of the Great Tree of Possibilities, the sight brings me chills. I feel I am on the precipice of something more. What comes next... We'll soon find out.

Esto - And the Path Will Be Made Known
On Friday he brought me back to the Watcher's Sanctuary. We climbed the stairs and I found myself wondering why are we here? I followed MidnightSun into the alcove and turned my attention to the books on display. I opened the Prologue book and read what the Watcher wrote.
To the side I heard a sound. I turned and saw MidnightSun standing next to the door of the Path of the Shell. The door was open. I don't know how he did it but he opened the door! I've read journals of other explorers who took the Path of the Shell long before the second restoration attempt and the joining of Cate Alexander to the DRC, but from what I could find none were able to open door after the Great Scream.
Now I understand. Now I know why he had me scouring over those lines day and night. He beckoned me to move inside and closed the door once I was in. The scale of this mechanism is staggering. My KI flashes with a message. "I'll be waiting outside until you finish."
On the six hundred and twenty fifth month of my life I was gazing upon the star of Ces in the sky of the age of Windring. And at the time of my birth the star began to brighten until it became brighter than the rings themselves. And with a sudden brilliance it turned the night into day. And I beheld the fire of the Maker. And he spoke to me. And the fire of the Maker left me, and I saw only blackness, because my eyes were blinded. But his words remained…

Esto - The Passage of Time
Activity in the cavern has died down over the past week. Pantaleon has left to complete Yeesha's journey. I pray he finds the answers he seeks. My own studies on Words has yielded little more than strange shapes in my dreams and yet MidnightSun assures me the reasons will become clear; perhaps sooner than expected. After pressing him, he finally said we would be visiting The Watcher's Sanctuary. For what purpose I do not know for we have long since made our own copies of Words for study.
Over the last few days I have been contacted by a few old explorer friends absent from the cavern. Telling them of what has occurred has been difficult. The news of Adelia's disappearance is quite upsetting. Fortunately, the search parties have continued in Pantaleon's absence. Expeditions to the far reaches of the cavern and various ages have been thorough. I hope they find her soon.

Esto - Picking up the Pieces
Lately I've been questioning my reason. Over the past months I've seen things so great and vivid that I'm sure Yahvo himself was involved and yet I know how this sounds. What's more: though I know how long these experiences occurred I find it hard to believe I have been away for so long. Life in the cavern has gone on and things have changed. My friend Adelia has apparently gone missing; and to think - exactly a year ago we met at the CAVCON party. Pantaleon has organized a search party. I would join myself, but other events have tied my hands.
I've also been met with news of death in the cavern and have aided in the identification of many of the explorers. In the years I've been coming to this city, I've never witnessed a cave-in like this. I hope this isn't something we have to get used to. The DRC always seemed a pain to the explorer community, though I cannot think of an occurrence of this magnitude under their watch. Now only a few ResEngs remain and I find myself wishing the DRC were still with us. A GoME messenger has circulated a list of the fallen asking for help in contacting their next of kin on the surface.
As for my own family, I fear that my absence has left them in the dark. Doubtless they would have searched for me. I want nothing more than to return to them and assure them of my safety, but the work I've been left with here prevents me from doing so. Should I return it is likely I would be stripped of access to my Relto; even should I manage to get it back, a second disappearance would only worry them further. It seems cruel, but I must let them continue to think of me as lost for the time being.
I have spent a great deal of time working with Dean, or as he now prefers - MidnightSun. We began in The Watcher's Sanctuary making copies of Words. Upon returning to Takotah II we began deciphering the works. These Words, I know them. Of all things I experienced in the Star Fissure these Words permeated the space. Their meaning: Yeesha is The Grower. While the truth of these words is known to me I find there are some passages that elude me. Somehow I find the answer lies in the new symbol on my shoulder.
MidnightSun tells me the journey we took was false; yet if it is false then its lies have been irrevocably intertwined with truth. This Triple Shell motif has foundations in Words and yet, this symbol on my arm is rooted deeper. I find myself wondering why we're here pouring over these texts when their meaning is clear to both of us. MidnightSun's only answer has been that it is preparation for a Journey. After months of blinding truth, this riddle frustrates me. "The passing of time brings the path to the gathered." I must rest in the truth of these words.

Esto - 4: 1-8
In the night they walk through the streets
Looking to one another for explanation;
Trying to understand the mourning that fills the city,
And prevent them from lying down.
Others ignore the wails.
They feel safe and talk as though they are immortal.
As they too succumb to death
They remember the restless nights.

And prevent them from lying down.
